Henriette is gone from La Paz - what will be next ? ….

The eye came through somewhat east of La Paz about 21:00. It was pretty noisy most of the night and since then not a whole lot of rain. Still lots of clouds cruising eastwards, but we're down to minor winds and sprinkles at this point. Power and phone is up in my part of town but with those winds I'm sure there are colonias that weren't so lucky. (credits: lencho aka larry)

Hurricane season still has some time to go until it's over and if I recall the hurricane post on the Cabo San Lucas Blog and the number of hurricanes we're predicted to get, there are probably more to come.

I went out and did some photos this again this a.m. (more or less the same spots). Other than a few fallen trees and 2 beached sailboats, I did not observe much damage. So it was "just" a number 1 grade tropical storm and we can say we were lucky.

I personally am not so concerned about hurricanes.  I guess it's a matter of experience and how much I've been through.  It makes me feel like facing the wind, clenching my teeth and thinking " bring it on - gimmi your best shot" and afterwards I'll clean up. I'm not so comfortable with earthquakes and last night the tumbler was not amusing. Gives me the feeling that somebody pulls the ground away under my feet. It was a 5.0 and only 30 some miles away from La Paz. I posted right away at the Baja Nomads ,the computer monitor still shaking…
