Capital of Baja California Sur – La Paz

We still have some places to go and today we visited the center of power in BCS, the governor's palace. La Paz was not always the capital of Baja California Sur, some years ago, Wikipedia says anno 1830, it became the capital of Baja California Sur, before that it was Loreto. The governors palace is on Isabel la Catolica right across the street from the big CCC supermarket. It's a well groomed area with a fountain and music. "Rock me amadeus" by Falco was running as I was there and the fountain is synchronized to the music….. Here are the pics for today. Enjoy! Thats the Baja Ferries B.H.Q. (Baja head quarters) main office. Yep, thats what you get when you have the monopoly on ferry services to the Baja peninsula. Some insider information I overheard was talking about 45 million last year. US dollars that is!! No wonder they get such a place, you should have seen the dump they were in before…..

I been at some quite fancy places before, Monte Carlo, Beverly Hills, Del Mar etc. but La Paz clearly beats 'em all: some serious cast-iron waste-baskets with the state logo on it!!

Department of finances – large place, guess thats the reason why one needs to wait so long unitl you get your money if you do a job for the government…….
