So, we got a tropical storm coming up the coast, Kiko… what a name
Based on that analysis Conagua is forcasting that "Around 15 tropical weather phenomena are expected to be named in the Pacific (to reach tropical storm status); of these 8 will remain at that level, 5 will become hurricanes and 2 might become intense hurricanes." This forecast covers the period from approximately August 15 to October 15. That's what was said 6 month ago. Tropical storm Kiko did not read that I guess, we got the 19. today… darn… cant thrust them storms.
Back to serious. Tropical Storm Public Advisory says at 2:00 PM PDT on October 19, 2007: Kiko intensifies a little more. A tropical storm watch remains in effect for portions of the Pacificcoast of Mexico from Punta San Telmo northwestward to Cabo Corrientes. Kiko is moving toward the northwest near 5 mph…7 km/hr…and thisgeneral motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hours. This motion should keep the center just offshore and moving roughly parallel to the Pacific coast of Mexico. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph…85 km/hr…with highergusts. Some slow strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours. Kiko is expected to produce total rainfall accumulations of 4 to 7inches over southwestern Mexico with possible isolated maximum amounts of 10 inches. Life-threatening flash floods and mud slidesare possible over mountainous terrain.
So, we could get some more rain down here at the southern Baja. Want hurt that much, water is always welcome as long somewhat moderate…. We will keep an eye on that puppy by checking all our sources regular and of course inform as soon as we get more detailed informations. So far it's still good distance away. I might stock up on beer… just in case…
