Thailand Tuc Tucs in La Paz??

Paceno By Paceno • Aug 17th, 2007 • Category: La Paz

Ever been to Thailand?? A common source of transportation are 3-wheelers called Tuc Tucs. ( Just in case you ever go there - those things are a riot but don't get adventurous and try to drive one around in public traffic…. I spent 6 month in Phuket and was so stupid to do so- lifetime experience + 5 square-inch of gray hairs!!). Those things are mainly made in India, 2-stroke, polluting, screamers that sound like a wiener-dog standing on 3 legs on a tin roof relieving himself.

On the way back from my visit to the Allende Books store I took some pics from the version they plan to sell here I guess. Even better - let's contemplate a little with that.

As far as my understanding goes there will be some kind of ferry service established between the Mex. dominated La Paz mainland and the (most likely) foreigners invaded Mogote peninsula. But, here's the catch, that ferry is not for car's but vehicles which you might have already seen driving around in La Paz. They look like golf carts on steroids and they are supposed to transport people around. The word is people - not goods. Now, I think, that's where them tip-a-toy's make it in the picture. They are the transporters for quick stuff and emergencies like pizza deliveries, roto-router (hey, express in -  express out!!). Otherwise they would have to drive all the way around the bay and face it, 40+ minutes ain't express anymore. Pizza would be lame and cold or 'stuff' starts floating (….depending on the services that came to my mind).

Hey, a good business idea just came to my mind while writing this - build some kinda take-out joint or drive-thru on the way to the Paradiso. I need to find a developer + some money!! Urgent. I already know the perfect property for it, corner-lot right here. So the less privileged oaks can have a snack on the way….. rof. I doubt that ferry will be free if you don't own in that low-income colony.

That's it for today folks. Stay tuned for the all, new mother of all Baja Weather websites that is also in build-up right now. Hope you understand some of my wicked humor and if you don't like it - as far as I recall any browser has an X in the upper right corner.

Free people, free mind's, free speech and free beer - life couldn't possibly be better Cool  (I admit, some of the free stuff is hard to come by…)

Enjoy the pics.
