What? A La Paz blog and can’t post comments here! huh? Well…
I hear you and makes total sense. I'm actually surprised it's taken so long for me to get the first mail inquiring about that. Absolute correct critique and I have no problems with it. The comment feature is turned off to protect the blog and the hosting account from hacking attempts. Yep, it was happening in the past - fortunately the person doing it was not very bright - "a wanna be". In the meantime the script has improved and security is not a concern anymore. What is of concern is junk. I read somewhere that 80% of all posts on weblogs are "blogspam" I have to admit that is correct! We run several blogs besides the La Paz Blog such as a weblog in Cabo San Lucas, one on the Loreto BCS website… and, and, and. The Baja Infotheque Network IS growing and so are the number of participating users. Our network is even getting its own website to find Baja Sites faster. Despite this growth we still will continue to not allow comments. Having some 200 per day viagra and other medications related comments are just, plain period,a pain in the #$@!!! Even with protection software filtering and not allowing the comments to show, they take bandwidth. We just don't want to give that internet scum such opportunities by allowing comments.
Of course our visitors are more important than that @#*&$% so we need to find another solution that opens the Baja-La Paz Blog for you to share your opinions. The best way we've figured out is for you to just send us an e-mail with your comment and the name of the post your comment is related to and we will publish it. No matter what you write we will publish your opinion as long as it is within these common sense guidelines that we and almost every other Baja weblog or other interactive platforms follow. No porn, no racial or other discriminating statements and in regards to La Paz: PLEASE! - no rumors (1/2 of the city is driven on that and we don't want to be part of that)! No contemplating ( that's my job
- you can comment on it…..) and of course: no s*p*a*m*m*i*n*g*. You have some business-style to announce? Perhaps your small biz you'd like to promote? Use the La Paz Mercado Libre Online. For a more expanded and comprehensive promotion of your business take a look at our 1,2,3 pesos per day special. Concerned about your privacy?? Read the t.o.s. (terms of service) - we stick with that, no matter what. There are plenty of La Paz and Baja 'vanilla' websites and blogs around. We choose our own approach - some people may not like this. To them we suggest: look in the upper right corner of your browser, there is a small square with a "x" in it….. guess you got the point.
On an end note to this post, here is a nice statement we ran across somewhere out there and would like to share with our visitors:
The Internet is yours! The Internet does not belong to writers of viruses, spyware, pop-up scripts, or anyone that wants to interfere with your surfing experience. The Internet does not belong to any state or company, as no one has monopoly on innovation. The internet does not belong to advertisers or supporters of websites. The Internet belongs to YOU!
We support that kind of thinking and invite you again to comment or participate otherwise on this website. Feel free to mail us if you have any questions.
Free people, free minds, free speech!! (Oops, almost forgot: free beer - that's important too, best brand!!)
